Libraries and "Story Time with Drag Queens"

Libraries and "Story Time with Drag Queens"

Isn’t story time at a library supposed to be about the kids?  Then why did they make it about drag queens?

'Drag Queen Story Time' hopefully is the moment when the public comes to understand how little value narcistic diversity directors at local libraries provide.  When my mom read to me as a child, the focus was on me, not her.  She didn’t do it to edify herself, but to edify me as I remember her reading “The Mouse and His Child” and “Huckleberry Finn”.  Families, schools, and libraries are supposed to do what’s best for our children, but I have a feeling these directors that wish to validate their own world views at the local community library don’t have the same sense of awareness because Drag Queen Story Time is not about edifying and educating our children with books, it’s clearly a narcissist in the library community that wants to feel better about themselves at the expense of others.  It’s nothing you should be proud of because  you have taken story time away from the children and made it about you.  The bright colors, music, and energy behind it all only hides the fact that your efforts are ideological and it screams, “It’s All About Me!”
