Adam Solano's Statement on Freedom of Speech’s Humble Victor

Adam Solano, Candidate for State Senate in the 31st District has released a statement on Freedom on Speech:

"In a country like ours, you must learn to be ok with other’s beliefs – especially ones you don’t like. If you want freedom to say and do what you want, you need to do the same for your neighbor. Or in this case, a local high school football coach. For the many years I coached my kids and their friends in Grayslake, it wasn’t my style to pray on the “50-yard line”, but I certainly went out of my way to be a good example. For Coach Kennedy, his expression and example cost him his career - even after he complied with the school district’s request to cease praying out in the open. Unfortunately, the school district wouldn’t relent and gave him a humiliating choice: stop praying after games on school grounds or lose your job. He took the difficult yet courageous path and stood up for his faith and his freedoms and we’re all better for it. We need more reasonable people in Springfield who can lead with courage when faced with difficult decisions." - Adam Solano, Candidate for State Senate in the 31st District
